Days are getting warmer and longer. The grass is turning green. Spring fever has officially set in! Ice Out on Moosehead Lake is super close. People have been fishing the openings already and the water will be warming up soon as this beautiful weather continues. As the water warms, the fishing picks up. We have a lot of guided and rental options to get you out on the water, and enjoying the peace and quiet we all long for. We have a junior kayak, several single kayaks, a tandem kayak, canoes, and two stand up paddle boards. SUP (or stand up paddle boarding) is growing into one of the greatest water sports. This is a low impact cardio exercise that strengthens your entire body while improving your balance. FREE Wi-Fi!!! We now have fiber internet here offering wireless Internet to our guests and all of the cabins. We upgraded the system, so it now reaches everyone staying here and is password protected! We also have set up more cabins with satellite TVs. The year round cabins (excluding Pocahontas-one of our smallest) along with "Lakeside" Cabin, now ALL have TV! Never thought it would be that popular here in the North Maine Woods, but it has become that way...so we aim to please!

Planning to do some wildlife watching during your stay on Moosehead Lake? You can ride around and look for moose, deer, birds, and many other types of wildlife. The salt on the sides of the road during the winter and spring brings them out of the woods to where you can see them! Don't forget your camera, there will be plenty of photo opportunities. Also, remember to be cautious while driving, especially at night, because they will be out and about snacking on treats. Worried about those back roads and getting lost? The East Outlet is open all year for fly-fishing! October 1-April 30 is catch and release only. Water is being released from the Kennebec River and the flow is running at around 1000 CFS. Open water fishing on Moosehead Lake, Maine begins May 1st. The ice generally goes out in mid-May, and the fishing improves shortly after as the water warms up!!
