East Outlet Guide & Fly Shop at Wilsons On Moosehead Lake, Maine offers a variety of guided trips with something for everyone to love! Our driveway runs along the East Outlet of the Kennebec River and brings you to our Fly Shop and store, 15 cabins and an amazing view of Moosehead Lake!

We have state of the art equipment, and are proud to offer our guests the comfort and ease of Pavati Drift Boats. One is an amazing boat that even has doors making it easy for elderly (or not-so-coordinated) folks to get in and out of the drift boat! When the water is low, we have two row frame rafts to get sports to those fishing holes on the Kennebec River!

Master Maine Guide, Scott Snell, has been an area guide since 1989. Growing up at Wilsons since 1983, has provided him the opportunity to live and play in the area, gathering knowledge and experiences most envy!

Colby Snell has his Maine recreation, fishing, and hunting guide licenses. Living here, fishing, hunting, and following his father around all of his life made it an easy decision for him to become a fourth generation guide. We are excited to continue to grow the guide service business and add new adventures to our offerings!

Fishing

Fishing

Our most popular trips are our full day river adventures complete with beautiful scenery and great fishing! Each of the rivers we run are truly an adventure. The East Outlet of the Kennebec River is world class, Landlocked Salmon and Brook Trout fishing. This fly fishing only river is dam controlled, providing cool, clean water well into the summer from the massive Moosehead Lake. For the avid fly fishermen in search of a trophy, the best times are May through June and again mid-September through October.

Never fly fished before? Not to worry, we provide instruction and lessons, too. If learning to fly fish is your goal, the best time is late June through July. If you're a last minute planner and we have availability, ask about our half-day guided drift boat trips that run the upper river early in the morning or later in the evening to capture the best fishing hours of the day.

We also offer Small-Mouth Bass Fishing trips on the West Outlet of the Kennebec River along with Scenic Lake Cruises, too! We don't stop in the winter as the lake transforms to a hard surface, we offer great ice fishing opportunities from our lakefront cabins on Moosehead Lake, Maine.

Our fishing trips include all the necessary equipment (flies, rods, leaders, etc.) Call us today at 207-695-2549 to book your trip or find out more information! For daily water releases, call 1-800-557-3569 with CODE: 235137, visit H2O Line.
