Travel Tips
Wilsons on Moosehead Lake is the ideal place to spend a family vacation together, with innumerable activities to interest every member of the family, young or old. Give us a call at 207-695-2549 to make your reservation. Our office is staffed from 8am-8pm, 7 days a week and we are here to help you with your vacation arrangements!
Our lakefront cabins are fully equipped so that you feel like you are coming 'home' rather than returning to a small motel room. All of our cottages have a screened porch, fully equipped kitchens, private bathrooms, all linens & towels provided at no charge, along with charcoal grills and picnic tables. We want you to relax and enjoy yourself while you are here on vacation.
Packing List/FAQ's
We have provided this list to try and help you out. Some of the items below will possibly be in the cottage because previous guests have left things to share, but we do not stock the following:
- Toiletries (shampoo, hand soap)
- Kitchen supplies (coffee, spices, flour, sugar, dish soap, paper towels, etc.)
- We supply some needed items to get you started such as: toilet paper, small soaps, and trash bags.
In the summer, fans can come in handy, as well as beach chairs & towels, and water shoes. We have charcoal grills here for our guests, but you need to bring charcoal and lighter fluid. (We do put them away for the winter months) Guests are welcome to bring their own propane grill if preferred. They cannot be used on the porches!
We sell camp wood for the outside fire pits and on-site gas & oil for boats, snowmobiles, and ATVs.
There is a full-service grocery store in Greenville along with multiple small convenience stores in Greenville and Rockwood, so you don't need to do your shopping before you arrive in the area.
Are you Pet Friendly?
While we do our best to accommodate your friendly, WELL behaved 4-legged family members, we must know IN ADVANCE if you are traveling with your pet. Some cabins DO NOT allow dogs. We have a pet contract that is required and can be found on our policies page. We also have several pets of our own, and this is where they live so this must be taken into consideration. They are often found on the beach or running around playing. Two of them are working bird dogs; they have LOTS of energy, and they also need to stay in reasonable shape for hunting and training season. REMINDER: our insurance company does not allow certain breeds.

Please use our link to Yahoo Maps on our directions page. You can also use google maps as well. Other sites are confusing and are just now starting to find us North Woods folks! If you choose to use your own GPS, do make sure to use Greenville Junction, or even the Town of Moosehead will work.
Licenses and Registrations
Hunting & Fishing
Hunting and Fishing License Applications may be obtained online with your Visa, MasterCard, Amex, or Discover: click here for the Hunting & Fishing License Application Forms. Applications may also be obtained at the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife License Agent located at the Kittery Trading Post, Kittery, Maine or locally at Indian Hill Trading Post.
Snowmobile Registrations

Resident and Nonresident Snowmobile registration renewals, and Nonresident Seasonal registrations may be obtained locally at Indian Hill Trading Post or online with your Visa or MasterCard, allow at least 1 week for processing.
ATV Registrations
Resident and Nonresident ATV registration renewals may be obtained locally at Indian Hill Trading Post or online with your Visa or MasterCard. Allow at least 1 week for processing.

Whitewater Rafting
