Moosehead Lake, which is the largest lake in Maine is 40 miles long and 20 miles wide. The Moosehead Lake region boasts many of New England's most impressive mountains and thousands of acres of pristine forested wild lands. Outdoor activities are endless for those looking to get away from it all and take in nature at its best.
If you enjoy the outdoors, you've come to the right place! Our cabins are the ONLY accommodation on Moosehead Lake and the Kennebec River. Just steps from your cottage door, enjoy fishing on Moosehead Lake and fly fishing the World Famous East Outlet of the Kennebec River. Swimming, kayaking, canoeing, sightseeing, wildlife photography, moose safaris, waterfalls, climbing and hiking on Kineo, Squaw and Spencer Mountains - or just about any activity for those who love the outdoors can be found here. Bird and wildlife viewing are fast becoming a favorite way to enjoy the area and beauty of the Moosehead Lake Region!
The region boasts three state parks. Lily Bay State Park, located on the Northeast shoreline of Moosehead Lake has a beach, picnic areas, and hiking trails for family fun. Mount Kineo, in the center of Moosehead Lake, offers hiking & biking trails, picnic and camping sites, and the gorgeous Pebble Beach behind it's towering, impressive 800 feet of cliffs. Peaks Kenny State Park, located on Sebec Lake, is an ideal spot for a family picnic, canoeing, kayaking and swimming, and is an hour drive from Moosehead Lake. Baxter State Park, home to the State's highest peak- spectacular Mount Katahdin, is a scenic two hour drive. Hiking trails, and boundless recreational opportunities are all around!
During the winter months, many of these hiking adventures turn to fantastic cross-country skiing or snowshoeing opportunities. Endless old inactive dirt roads are perfect for exploring during the winter months as well. There are also places to explore using the groomed and well marked trail systems. The ITS snowmobile trails can be accessed at the end of our driveway connecting you to the entire Moosehead Lake Area Trail System and beyond.
Ice fish, ice skate, or just relax and enjoy the scenery of a winter wonderland. Families enjoy ice skating around while checking flags and bait while ice fishing. Dog sledding adventures are becoming a huge draw to the area as well!
Several of our lakefront cabins have working fireplaces and are popular for those looking to get away from it all and simply enjoy a Maine Woods Experience. There's no place more beautiful after a fresh snowfall!
