Summer Fishing in the Moosehead Lake Area

Summer Fishing in the Moosehead Lake Area

Summer is upon us! However, with the rains comes water. With lots of water in the rivers the fish are still holding. The big fish are getting very selective; they have food everywhere. You just gotta figure out what they’re looking for. Their choices are changing daily, even hourly, so be patient and keep changing those flies! If you’re catching little ones, you may be close but you probably don’t have the right size or color on. Early mornings and late evenings are the best bet at this point for fly fishing on the East Outlet of the Kennebec River.

The bass fishing is heating up and we have been catching some big ones! Our guided trips are becoming very popular and we have 2 boats so we can accommodate parties of up to 4. Family trips are a blast for kids and adults, with amazing memories being made along the way. We run a small pool/drop river full of small mouth bass and other species with amazing scenery and prevalent wildlife-you may even see a moose!
